Beacon has assembled a committed and experienced team of real estate professionals with a broad range of expertise and experience. Because the company culture encourages growth and challenge, our key associates have grown with us for an average of over 12 years.

Jim L. Notley, President

With more than 25 years of leadership experience in professional property management, Jim’s background encompasses all phases of real estate from site planning and construction supervision to day-to-day management of apartments and various types of commercial and retail properties. Mr. Notley holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Mr. Notley also holds a California Real Estate Broker License. Prior to forming Beacon Property Management, Mr. Notley was Senior Vice President and partner of PMG Real Estate Management & Consulting, Inc. and was responsible for 20,000 apartment units in a seven-state area.

Rick Marrash, Vice President

Rick has over 25 years of experience in multi-family property management including portfolios of new construction and lease-up, stabilization, repositioning and renovation/rehab. Mr. Marrash’s experience ranges from management of resort-style properties to distressed C-class, including conventionally financed, Tax Credit, Bond financed and HUD properties. Mr. Marrash oversees operations for the entire Beacon portfolio, including the review of monthly financials, auditing, preparing annual budgets, construction management and training of personnel. Mr. Marrash holds a California Real Estate sales license. Prior to joining Beacon in 2000, he spent twelve years as the Regional Property Supervisor for two of the oldest and largest management companies in the United States.

Shelly Carron, Controller

Shelly has 28 years of experience in the property management industry. Seventeen of those years have been with Beacon Property Management overseeing all accounting functions. Prior to joining the Beacon team, she managed Homeowner Associations in Orange County, California. Ms. Carron has a B.A. from California State University, Fullerton and has been a Registered Tax Return Preparer since 1994.

Judith Vanderschel – Human Resources Manager

Judith has over 37 years of experience in providing administrative support to executives in both established organizations and entrepreneurial ventures ranging from small to large organizations. Her broad experience includes administrative, payroll, employee relations, benefits and management. She has experience in various industries including legal, real estate, food manufacturing and processing, and alternative energy. Shortly after joining Beacon in 2005, Ms. Vanderschel was promoted to Human Resources Manager, and works with the management team in defining and implementing training, recruiting, performance management, employee engagement, compliance, worker’s compensation, benefits and more. Ms. Vanderschel attended La Sierra University. She is a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Inland Empire SHRM.

Sharron Lambeth – Senior Resource Center Advisor

Sharron has 45 years of experience in the field of property management. She worked in seven states and the District of Columbia, participating in the planning and supervision of extensive project renovations for affordable housing communities. Since her employment with Beacon in 2003, the majority of her portfolio work included management of senior multi-family communities and the development of older adult programs. She is a strong advocate for older adults, planning and collaborating with community leaders for improved programs and services. Sharron is a member of the Riverside County Office on Aging Advisory Council and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Riverside County Foundation on Aging. She is a Fellow for the Center for Civic Policy and Leadership, leads the Senior Assistance Program for Jurupa Valley Adopt a Family, chairs the Healthy Jurupa Valley Family Resource Network and serves on the Board of Directors for the Jurupa Valley Rotary Club. Sharron is the recipient of the 2013 George Telisman Memorial Award, in recognition of her advocacy for older adults.

Jim Weaver, Senior Regional Property Manager

Jim has over 20 years of experience in multi-family property management. His management portfolios have ranged from A+ to D grade communities, Senior, SRO, and family communities. Mr. Weaver’s experience includes management of Tax Credit, HUD and Bond financed properties and portfolios as large as 8,015 units, as well as leading lease ups from new construction totaling over 3,400 units. Prior to joining Beacon in 2013, Mr. Weaver worked for various national REITS and regional property management companies, holding positions of On-site Property Manager, Regional Manager of Director of Asset Manager. Jim has a B.S. and MBA from the University of Houston, and holds an active California Real Estate Broker’s license.

Michael Bond – Regional Property Manager

Michael has over 20 years of experience managing both multi-family and commercial properties. He joined Beacon in 2000. Mr. Bond holds a California Real Estate License, is a CPM Candidate, and is a Board Member of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Executive Advisory Committee, Crime Free Multi-Housing Program. Mr. Bond was recognized as the 2006 Regional Manager of the Year, presented by the Apartment Association of the Greater Inland Empire (AAGIE.)

Judy Vick, Regional Property Manager

Judy has over 30 years of experience in the property management industry. She joined Beacon in 2007. Ms. Vick’s background ranges from hands-on positions advancing to multi-site management, as well as supervisory and leadership experience. Ms. Vick’s responsibilities for overall property operations encompasses owner relations, financial reviews, performing property inspections and oversight of renovation projects, with Beacon’s portfolio in the Inland Empire. Ms. Vick was recognized as the 2010 Regional Manager of the Year, presented by the Apartment Association of the Greater Inland Empire (AAGIE).

Catherine Distefano, Regional Property Manager

Catherine has 20 years of experience in all aspects of commercial property management. She joined Beacon in 2004. Her management portfolios have included office buildings, retail space, and warehouses. Ms. Distefano currently oversees the day-to-day operations of approximately 600,000 square feet of retail and office building space. Ms. Distefano’s responsibilities for commercial property operations encompass owner relations, tenant issues, budget preparation and review, and oversight of the various constructions projects, including capital improvements and tenant related build outs. Ms. Distefano is involved in redevelopment matters and actively monitors city issues and council meetings.

Martha Peoples, Director of Compliance

Martha has 30 years of experience in the property management industry, in more than seven states. Ms. Peoples currently holds the Certified Property Management (CPM) and Accredited Residential Management (ARM) designations through the National Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and the NCP-E certification from Elizabeth Moreland Housing Credit College. Martha is certified as a California Residential Manager (CCRM) and has certifications in Tax Credits, Bonds and Tax Credit Compliance. Ms. Peoples has held positions of Property Manager, Regional Manager, and Director of Asset Management throughout her career, and has specialized in Project Based Section 8, Project Based Vouchers, Tax Credits, Bond, HOME, PRAC and Emancipated Youth Programs. She joined Beacon in 2013.
