Beacon collaborates with clients, partners, residents, tenants, employees and vendors to make a positive impact on the communities we manage.  We are committed to the implementation of environmentally sustainable business practices at each of our managed properties.  In doing so we help protect the long-term investment for our clients and strive to be a force for innovative change.   Key components of the Beacon sustainability strategy include:

Education

Beacon ensures the continuous education of its employees, residents, and vendors on a number of environmental topics.

Energy Audits

Beacon has on-site programs to maximize the energy efficiency of our managed properties by performing energy inspections, energy audits, and fine-tuning energy management.

Lighting Audits

Beacon employees regularly conduct studies at managed properties.  We stay educated on the most efficient lighting technology for common areas, resident, and commercial tenant spaces to ensure utilization of efficient fixtures.

Water Efficiency

Beacon is committed to ensuring awareness and increased efforts to conserve this diminishing resource. California state laws and recommendations for water use are strictly enforced.  Implementation of plumbing fixture retrofit programs are exercised on all of our managed properties.  In addition, drought tolerant landscaping species, native to California, is used to replace water-thirsty landscape plant material.
